Market culling anecdote

A little anecdotal conversation happened in front of me yesterday in the check out line at a grocery store.

There was a student in front of me with a University of British Columbia hoodie on and the cashier asked what subject he was taking. Somehow the cashier thought he said mining. The cashier then told the student that her dad was a geologist for a junior and proceeded to say it is a tough business and that 700 companies would soon be extinct, leaving lots of unemployment in the sector.

The guy with the UBC hoodie then corrected the nice cashier and told her Micro Biology and she said "well that will be okay"

The point of this post is the same as getting a stock tip from the shoe shine guy, when you hear an anecdote from a non market participant good or bad you know you are near the market extremes.

  1. Every single interview nowadays brings up The Kaiser Extinction. I want to email him and ask if he's sick of it yet.

  2. I'm surprised Kaiser takes time off from pumping Nevada Exploration Group to talk about anything else.
